Summer makes me tired

Once again it seems as if I have fallen off the face of the earth, hasn't it? I am blaming it on summer.

Two weeks ago, Marty was in Nashville for most of the week so not much happened there. Mostly taxi-ing the boys to and fro.

Last week, Marty and I were in Birmingham. He had to go for work so I tagged along with the hopes of hitting Whole Foods, flea markets, yard sales, etc. I ended up locking myself in the hotel for most of the morning and sleeping. I made it to Whole Foods and was so stinking disappointed that I ended up only buying one thing. What kind of Whole Foods doesn't have a bulk section? Mountain Brook, Alabama Whole Foods, thank you. I suppose it is a good day when all you have to complain about is a lack of bulk organic foods, but geeze I was mad! So mad I called Susan all the way in Las Vegas to complain. I am such a baby. :o/ The saving grace of the trip was almost the king sized headboard that was in the trash that I almost grabbed to turn into a bench for the patio... until I remembered that we had to take someone back with us. (Three people from Meridian went and one was going to stay so the other needed a ride.) He ended up not needing a ride and I didn't go back and get it. I am still kicking myself.

This week is filled with dentist visits and getting Christian ready for his first day of College. *sniff*

Tomorrow I am headed to Lowe's to pick up some paint for the tv armoire (wait till you see the color I have picked out!) and gobs and gobs of white paint for the rest of the furniture. I am so tired of how dark it seems to be in here, and I am sure that my dark furniture (wood furniture and upholstered furniture) isn't helping. I have always been afraid to go all white because of the whole having three boys bit, but I have recently found a blog where she does exactly that and it looks amazing. I can't wait!
